Pole, Lyra or fitness and stretch — how to choose your first IamSexyFit class

You have decided you want something different from your usual routine. Then you open a studio schedule and meet a whole new vocabulary: pole, Lyra, flow, fitness, stretch and aerial. Where do you begin? You do not need to choose your forever favorite before your first visit. You need one class that interests you and fits your starting point.

If the pole videos keep catching your attention

Pole classes use a vertical pole as part of movement and skill instruction. Depending on the class, the focus may include dance, technique, conditioning or combinations. That does not make every pole class interchangeable. A beginner class and an intermediate sequences class can have very different expectations. Read the description and prerequisites, and choose an explicitly suitable starting level. The hardest clip on social media is not your first-class assignment.

If the hoop is what makes you curious

Lyra is an aerial hoop: the suspended metal ring you may have seen in our studio videos. It is different from pole and from other aerial equipment. If you want to explore it, look for an appropriate introductory or beginner option and check any prerequisites. Do not assume a class is suitable just because its name includes “aerial.” Ask the studio to help you choose when the level is unclear.

If you want movement without pole or aerial

Fitness and stretch can be your starting point. You do not have to try pole before you belong at IamSexyFit. Read the individual class descriptions to see what kind of movement and instruction each one offers. If those are the classes you want to attend regularly, explore FitPack and check its current eligible class list. FitPack is for fitness and stretch; it is not a pole or aerial membership.

Let your real schedule help you decide

A format can look exciting and still be difficult to attend at its current time. Compare the class level, practical travel time and your existing commitments. Then choose a visit you can actually make. You can try another suitable format later; one booking does not lock you into a new identity.

Ask a better first class question

Instead of asking, “Which class is best?” try: “I am new, I am interested in this type of movement, and these are the days I can attend. Which class would you recommend?” Include any relevant experience and ask about clothing or equipment. That gives the studio useful information and reduces the guesswork on both sides.

Choose the entry path that matches your plan

Our new-student Intro Offer provides four classes for $49. Check eligible classes and offer terms before buying. If a structured beginner pole series appeals to you, review its separate listing and registration details. Do not assume the Intro Offer pays for a series or workshop. Different options serve different needs.
